Te Pae Tauārai o te Rangi is the threshold between Ranginui and Papatūānuku, the horizon.

The horizon was an important navigation tool for our tūpuna across Moana-nui-a-Kiwa | the Pacific Ocean.

The sun, moon and stars all rise and set on the horizon. Navigators who knew the direction and position in which the stars rise and set, could (and still do) use the horizon as a compass.

Our tūpuna also used the sun, moon, stars and horizon to calculate the season and time.  The star that sits on the horizon early in the morning, let them know what season it was,  when and what crops to grow and what kai to gather from the land, rivers and sea.

We believe that Te Pae Tauārai o te Rangi played a pivotal role in the enduring legacy of our tūpuna!

In our coaching practice, we gaze towards the horizon, venturing beyond the visible, and embracing the journey into the unknown.

Our Why

Māori and Pasifika peoples are being left behind in the workplace.

It is not that we are not capable, we just aren’t understood in the western frame.

An indigenous lens is used to process the world in the way we understand it to be. It frames our perspectives and connection to our spaces, places, and people.  At Pae Tauārai we take our executive coaching practices and apply the indigenous lens providing that platform for Māori and Pasifika peoples to address imbalances, overcome inequities and thrive in the modern business environment.
